What is salary packaging?

Salary packaging is the easiest way to increase your pay without working longer hours. Sounds too good to be true, but it’s not! It’s an ATO approved system for St Andrew's Village staff (and employees of other PBIs) to significantly increase their take home pay and allow them to pay less income tax.

If you decide to salary package with CBB, here’s what happens…

Each pay period, a portion of your pay is directed to your CBB salary packaging account, completely free of income tax. From there, you choose how your money is used.

  • A popular option is to have your tax-free dollars loaded onto a CBB Salary Packaging Card each fortnight. This card operates just like a debit card and allows you to purchase goods and services anywhere Visa is accepted. Imagine buying groceries, petrol and other household purchases with tax-free dollars.
  • You may also choose to have some of your funds paid to regular expenses such as mortgage, rent, personal loans and school fees. In fact, just about any debt you can provide proof of, and we can pay electronically, can be paid with salary packaged dollars.
