Wayne Turner

Wayne joined CBB in October 2008 as the General Manager CBB Consulting. Wayne has extensive background in management and financial consulting and has provided consulting services to the government sectors, commercial enterprises, public companies and more specifically the NFP sector over a 25 year period. Previously he was a Director in a state wide health service, an executive for a major education institution, a senior manager for an international consulting firm, as well as the Principal of his own consulting practices. Wayne has comprehensive skills and experience in finance, marketing and management which are backed by graduate qualifications in Finance/Accounting and post graduate qualifications in Business Administration. He is a member of the Australasian Evaluation Society as well as an assessor for Australian Service Excellence framework. Wayne has also received extensive training and undertaken significant work across Australia in the development of strategic plans, business plans, risk analysis, financial assessments, diagnostic reviews, business development and improvement activities, to list a few areas of expertise. Wayne has been rewarded for his consulting and business development work as a recipient of the Sir Thomas Playford Prize for Innovation (for developing an innovative strategic business plan), and was the inaugural recipient of the Mentor of the Year award for his work as a mentor and coach within the SA Enterprise Workshop program. Wayne has provided mentoring services within other program areas and on an individual basis. He is an active member of several Boards, finance committees and an investment fund; and is a long standing Board member/Treasurer of the major not-for-profit organisation, Australian Refugee Association Inc.
Michael Dawson

Michael joined CBB in May 2010 as the Chief Executive Officer CBB. He provides a unique set of experience gained in the not for profit, private and government sectors. Previously Michael was a Principal Consultant with an international management consultancy where he worked on business improvement and change management with commercial sector clients. He specialised in working with state and local government and community services on a variety of assignments across Australia. Michael worked with the firm's consulting team in Hong Kong where he worked with the Central Government, advising on and overseeing the decentralisation of human resource management to business units. Prior to these roles Michael was a Human Resources Manager in the private sector and a middle manager in the health (disability) sector in government - after qualifying and commencing his career as a teacher and registered psychologist. He is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. He has received numerous honours including being awarded Runner Up in the 2007 Equity Trustees Not-for-Profit CEO Awards - Long Term Achiever category. Passionate about the not-for-profit sector, Michael has always held a strong interest in community services - sitting as a Director or Public Officer on several voluntary Boards of Governance of Incorporated Associations over many years. Michael currently serves on a number of boards and committees including SA Council of Social Service (SACOSS), SACOSS Policy Council, and Safer Communities Australia Inc. He is appointed by relevant Ministers to the SA Classification Council and the Legal Services Commission of South Australia.
Ron Yates

Ron joined CBB Community Consulting as a Financial Consultant in March 2011. Ron has extensive financial and accounting experience with emphasis on customer service. His expertise has been developed over the past 30 years through a range of financial and accounting appointment in the commercial sector. Ron’s experience covers a variety of organisations all with different financial and accounting procedures and responsibilities. Ron has a proven ability to work with and contribute to executive management decision making and debate on issues of finance, accounting, management and financial reporting. As a result, Ron has strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure clients have a clear understanding of financial systems and reporting requirements and the need for quality processes and controls to be emphasised in an organisation. Ron has excellent problem solving skills with the ability to identify and focus on the ‘big picture’. He ensures there is appropriate attention provided to procedural issues, which is a hallmark of the way Ron applies his skills through engagement with organisations. This also includes a demonstrated flexibility and the ability to make a positive and early impact within client organisations. Ron’s qualification include: Business Certificate (Accounting) - Adelaide TAFE and Bachelor of Business (Incomplete) -Magill CAE.
Daniel Rees

He joins us from Helping Hand, where he was the Learning and Development Coordinator. Dan has worked in learning and development, as well as in organisational development roles for a variety of government, Not for Profit and commercial organisations, using his skills as a facilitator, project manager, coach and change manager. Dan follows his interest in ‘people at work’ through studies in organisational psychology and management. He has applied skills in team building, leadership development, cultural change, performance management, recruitment and selection, and conflict management. He also has a special interest in positive psychology – the study of what makes people, teams and organisations great! Dan looks forward to working with organisations to find and employ the right people, create positive, productive environments for them to work and flourish in, and provide effective and accessible development opportunities for the entire sector.
Carol Haslam Carol was a member of the EDI Board of Directors from 1991-1996 after building her own company, importing and distributing Microsoft products, and gaining a News/Australia Day Special Merit Business Achievement Award in 1990. After selling this company in 1991, she created another consulting company project managing computer exhibitions such as Comtec (1991-1995) and Hometech (1995-1996) and consulting to several government departments. Leaving to live in France in from 1996-2001, she was Managing Director of a French company importing computer products from Japan, USA, Israel, Korea, Ireland and England, with a turnover of 100 million FR (A$25million) and 25 French people to manage. After returning to Australia in 2001 and running the Enterprise Workshop for 3 years, she was a Chair for two TEC (The Executive Connection) groups for 3 years, before setting up her own business running tours in France and becoming Director of the CBB TSEW program. She enjoys sailing, tennis, photography and studying languages and cultures. Carol was made a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management in 1989, a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors in 2002 and a Fellow of the Institute of Learning Professionals in 2010. She completed an Executive MBA at the top International Business School in Europe (HEC/CPA) in 2000. |
