Performance Indicators
A
CBB Consulting applies a three level process which includes:
-
Education and training
-
Analysis of the mission, goals, strategies of your
organisation
-
How to bring KPIs into personal performance plans
The activities that could be embraced for taking up KPIs,
are described below.
Education and Training
CBB Consulting would develop a program of training for
appropriate staff and executives on the:
-
Role and need for KPIs;
-
Key characteristics of KPIs;
-
Major KPI groups;
-
Use of KPIs as an organisational performance tool;
and
-
Process for ensuring KPIs remain relevant.
Analysis
of mission, goals and strategies
Undertaking analysis of the mission, goals and strategies
would identify the type of KPIs and their priority as
part of assessing organisational performance. That is,
these planning and focusing documents and statements
would indicate what the KPIs need to represent.
The consultants involved could either:
• Undertake this analysis directly (by developing
relevant KPIs that take into account the capacity and
capability of internal systems to produce the information
required); OR
• Assist staff and executives of the Camden Community
Centre undertake their own analysis by providing direct
mentoring to those involved.
Personal Performance Plans and KPIs
Once KPIs have been developed at an organisational level
either the same KPIs or components of individual KPIs
could be attributed to individual staff or executives
as personal KPIs. These KPIs could then become the basis
of quantifying the performance of individuals.
In many organisations staff and executives have successfully
applied the organisations KPIs (or components thereof)
as their personal performance KPIs. The consultants
could assist each staff/executive member by establishing
relevant KPIs for individual roles.
Consultants would undertake a review of each position
description and with the incumbent of each position
determine relevant KPIs and the process to measure against
identified KPIs.
